When I first finished reading Falling into Place, I didn’t know how to rate it. It spoke to me in the most painful manner. No other book in recent memory has made me cry so much. When I wasn’t crying, I was on the verge of tears. The rest of the time I was uncomfortable. Liz wasn’t a nice person and yet I felt a connection because a lot of her thoughts had been mine before.

Winter is coming! In the lead-up to its release I realized that I hadn’t posted my review of Cress and Fairest yet. So, here we go with my thoughts on Fairest, which I enjoyed a lot. The focus on Queen Levant added a fresh perspective to the series since she’s the villain in The Lunar Chronicles.
TROUBLE IS A FRIEND OF MINE by Stephanie Tromly
Good humour that doesn’t try to be funny but absolutely is is hard to come by. In that department though, Trouble is a Friend of Mine delivered well. Intertwined with mystery, it made for a very entertaining read.

That’s why I think it’s a graphic novel that appeals to a wide audience, even if the medium isn’t something one usually reads. THE BIG LIE by Julie Mayhew
Set in Nazi England, 2012–2014, The Big Lie is premised on one question: What if the Nazis had won World War II? With this in mind, The Big Lie is a speculative work of alternative history. While nobody can say for sure how things would’ve turned out, I think the world that Julie Mayhew imagined is a rather plausible outcome. She evidently did her research and wove together the fascist ideals and lifestyles of the 1940s with contemporary ones.
